James Costello, Sr., 87, of Fords, NJ and Spring Hill, FL, died Thursday, October 18, 2018, at his home in Spring Hill, FL.  Mr. Costello was born in Jersey City, NJ, and was formerly of Fords, NJ.  He resided in Spring Hill, FL, since 2015.  He graduated with the Class of '48 from Ferris High School in Jersey City.  He then served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman and Radio Operator on the U.S.S. C.R. Ware from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War.  He received two service medals for his National Defense Service and Navy Occupation Service.  Upon his return home in 1955, James began his 38 year career at Western Union and married the love of his life, Marilyn.

James was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Marilyn Costello; and two daughters, Baby Jane and Susan Costello Surber.

He is survived by his three loving children:  Robert J. Costello and his wife, Leigh Ann, of Glenview, IL; James Costello, Jr. of Spring Hill, FL; and Linda Costello of Naples, FL.  James was the dearest grandfather of seven grandchildren:  Michael, Bryan, Marilyn, Natalie, William, Karen and Kelly; and six great-grandchildren: Travler, S.J., Leona, Ayden, Nicholas and Isabella.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 9:30 AM from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863 followed by at 10:00 AM Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords.  Entombment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery Mausoleum, Colonia, NJ.  Visitation will be on Friday, October 26, 2018, from 6:00-9:00 PM.
