James Keith Boykin, affectionately known as "Weasel," age 69, of Perth Amboy, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday,December 23, 2024,at Hackensack Meridian/ Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy.
Born on July 13, 1955, in Perth Amboy, James lived a full and vibrant life. He was a man of many talents and passions, enjoying fishing, motorcycle riding, playing the guitar, and sharing laughter with his signature sense of humor. James proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, exemplifying dedication, and honor. Following his service, he worked for many years at Pathmark Supermarket Distribution Center until its closing. He was predeceased by his parents, JK and Mary Boykin, his brother, Ronald Boykin and grandson, Lamar Wells Jr. James leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his beloved son, Lamar Wells;
his sisters, Orline Smolko, Christine Nicholson (Bobby), Yvonne Gardner (Roger), Darla Webb (Greg), Olivia Boykin, Cheryl Fraizer (Tyrone), and Estell Simon (Kimya); and his grandchildren, Shamar, Shamya, Shamir, and Shamod. He is also survived by his maternal aunt, Ernestine Bechman and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. James will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his warmth, humor, and the joy he brought to those who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 11:00am until time of services at 12:00pm at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. Private cremation will follow the funeral service.
