Obituary

Jack F. Mauro of Iselin passed away Tuesday January 3, 2012, at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 83 years old. Born in Brooklyn, NY he had lived in Fords for 20 years before moving to Iselin 7 years ago.

Jack had served in the US Marine Corps from October of 1945 to October of 1949, serving after WWII and during the China Conflict. Upon returning home, Jack was employed as a New York City Police officer for 10 years. He then became a Building Engineer for 84 William St., located in New York City. Jack loved horse racing and enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City, but most of all he cherished his time spent with his family and especially his grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his brother, John and sister, Josephine Kluck.

He is survived by his wife, Marie (Altilio) Mauro, to whom he was married to for 56 years; his three children, JoAnn Turitto and son-in-law Dominick of Spotswood, Jeffrey Mauro of Jackson, and Valerie Belmonte and son-in-law Sal of Fords; his grandchildren, and his brother, Frank, of CO.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012, at 10 AM from FLYNN AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. Entombment will be in St. Gertrude Mausoleum in Colonia. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home.
