Irving Mitzman, 88, of Perth Amboy, passed away at the Cedar Oaks Care Center, on November 18, 2013. He was born August 23, 192, in the Bronx, NY. He has resided in Perth Amboy since 1958. He was a teacher for the Newark Board of Education. He was a member of Temple Beth Mordecai in Perth Amboy and was an avid swimmer at the JCC in Iselin. He was a Veteran of the US Navy.

He was predeceased by son-in-law, Scott McGuire in 2009.

Irving is survived by his wife of 58 years,Selma (nee Graber) Mitzman of Perth Amboy; two daughters, Elyse McGuire of Perth Amboy; Judith Rodman and her husband Raymond of Reading, MA; grandson, Noah Rodman.

The family will receive mourners on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 11 am through 12 noon, at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, NJ 08840. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Berth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge
