Irina (nee: Prentice) Liburd Claxton, 86, of Fords, passed peacefully at home, with the love of her daughter, Mavis George and her family at her side, on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.

Born in Brown Hill, Saint Kitts and Nevis, British West Indies, and formerly of St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands, she had resided in Fords, NJ for the last 5 years.

She was a retired cook for the Golden Cow Restaurant in St. Croix for many years.

She is predeceased by her two husbands; Anderson Liburd and James Vincent Claxton and her two sons; Nathaniel Liburd and William "Lloyd" Liburd.

Irina leaves behind, her five beloved children; Mavis George of Fords, Wendell Liburd, Pansy Morton and Bernard Liburd all of the US Virgin Islands and Jascinth Claxton of Georgia, her 15 grandchildren, her many great-grandchildren, her brother, Spencer Stapleton,  and her sisters; Joan Pemberton, Judith Pemberton, Rosita Ward, Lorraine Hull and Albertine Maynard.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 10, 2020, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave. Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. Followed by a funeral service at 12:30 pm with Rev Chris Sadlo officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen, NJ.
