Irene S. Nilssen Larsen 97, of Metuchen, entered into eternal rest, Sunday August 10, 2014, at her home. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, and was formerly of Edison for 15 years, before moving to Metuchen 2 years ago.

She was a member of the Metuchen Senior Citizens club.

Irene was predeceased by her husband Robert S. Larsen in 1994. She is survived by her children Robert Stedje-Larsen and his wife Linda of Wingate, NC, Lynn Hoffman and her husband Richard of Riverside, NJ, and Rhondi Sabo and her husband James of Metuchen. She is also survived by six grandchildren Russell and Rayelyn Hoffman, Eric and Kristian Stedje-Larsen and Matthew and Steven Sabo, and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 15, 2014 at the Flynn and Son/ Koyen Funeral Home 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, at 7:30 pm with Pastor Scott Walsh officiating. We will meet at the funeral Home on Saturday at 9:30 am for a procession to Lake View Memorial Park in Cinnaminson, for burial at 11 am. Visitation is Friday from 6 pm to 8 pm
