She was born in Fords and has resided in Metuchen since 1960. For 23 years Irene work in the checking department at Perth Amboy Savings, retiring in 1997. She attended Perth Amboy High School and was a communicant at St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, Perth Amboy. After retirement, she and Edward enjoyed traveling extensively and collecting antiques from Maine to West Virginia. She especially loved antiquing in the Amish country where she made many friends. Irene loved her family, tending to her flowers, and poking around antique shops. She loved her years with her four dogs. Her warm smile will be missed by all who knew her.

Irene was predeceased by her brother, James, and her sister, Anna.
Surviving is her husband of 63 years, Edward, her daughters, Laura Rogers and her husband Craig of Valatie, NY, Karen Hunyadi of Storrs, CT., her grandchildren, Aaron, Nathan, Hannah, Avery and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 9:15 AM on September 5, 2015 at Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen. A Service of Divine Liturgy will be held 10 AM at St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, Perth Amboy. Cremation will be private. Viewing will be Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a Parastas service at 7 PM.
