Irene Hicks (nee: Barboe), 90, passed away on February 23, 2015, at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center.
She was born in Perth Amboy, where she spent most of her life. Irene was Director of Meals on Wheels for 10 years in Perth Amboy, retiring in 1986. She was a life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church of Perth Amboy and a member of the Amboys Old Timers Skating Club.
Irene was predeceased by her husband, James E. in 2005 and 7 brothers and sisters. Surviving are her sons, Richard J. and his wife, Sharon, of McMinnville, OR; and James A. and his wife, Pamela, of Fords; her daughters, Jeanette I. Hicks-Clark of South Amboy; and Lu Ann Acerbi of Piscataway. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Liana, Sarah, Allison and Brian, and a great-grandchild, Warrick.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM, Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave, Fords, with interment to follow at Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Visitation will be Friday 6-9 PM.
