Ignasio P. "Iggy" Spina, 87, of Edison, passed peacefully with his family at his side on January 4, 2020, at the Haven Hospice Unit at JFK Medical Center, Edison.  Born in Garwood, he had resided in Edison for the last 52 years.  He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U.S Army.  He was a retired Industrial Engineer with the General Motors Corp. in Linden for 32 years.  He was a communicant of St. Helena's RC Church in Edison.  He had been a member of the American Legion Trenton Post, the NJ Board of Realtors and the General Motors, Linden Division, Retirees Club

He was predeceased by his dear brother, Patrick Spina.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years, Marie; his two sons, Alan Spina of Rumson  and Glenn Spina and his wife, Lisa, of Asbury Park; his daughter, Catherine Blash and her husband, Raymond, of Atkinson, NH; his six grandchildren: Joshua; Jesse and his wife, Tramiecka; Jared; Kirstin; Dakota; and Asia; and his siblings: Santos Spina and his wife, Janice, of Naples, FL; Mary Coleman of Marlboro; and Leonard Spina of Melbourne, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, from 7:00-9:00 pm at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, NJ 08840.  Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at 9:15 am from the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Liturgy at St. Helena's RC Church, Edison. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
