Obituary

Idelia Lopez, of Edison, died Thursday, April 27, 2023, at JFK Medical Center in Edison,
Idelia was born in Huari, Peru to the late Daria and R. Maglorio Lopez. Idelia immigrated to the United States in 1974 and called Perth Amboy home for 39 years. Idelia loved telling jokes, even on the occasion she was feeling "spicy", she was a huge animal lover and has now joined her fur baby Lacey. She also took joy in making and eating Peruvian food, her Papa al La hunacaina was the best. Idelia also loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Idelia was predeceased by her oldest daughter, Sandra Rodriguez.
Idelia is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Silvia and Alex Rodriguez, Carmen and Carlos Herrera, and Marcia and Eric Mercado; her sister Marina; her eight beloved grandchildren, Kevin, Jakob, Angelia, Gabriel, Isaiah, Daniel, Andrea, and Zoey; her dear friend Josefina; along with nieces, nephews, many relatives, and close friends. She will be dearly missed.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2023, in the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue Perth Amboy, NJ 08861 . A prayer service will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Cremation will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 380 Smith St, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861 , or Perth Amboy Animal Shelter, 599 Fayette St, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.
