Ida Valentino, 97, of Edison entered into eternal rest Sunday at the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison.

She was born in Italy and is formerly of Roselle Park. Ida moved to Edison 52 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Matthew's RC Church in Edison and a member of the Edison Senior citizens club.

Ida was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1988. She is survived by her sons John A. and his wife Anita of Rockledge, FL, and Larry and his wife Diane of Edison; grandchildren: Jennifer, Paula, David, and Phillip; great-grandchildren: Anthony, Gia, and Gina; and her sister, Gloria Commerato, of Roselle Park.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at 9:00 AM from the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, followed by a 9:30 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Matthew's Church. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, March 2, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm.
