Ida E. Tonghini 95, formerly of Perth Amboy, entered into eternal rest, May 7, 2017, at the Atrium Nursing Home in Matawan.  She was born in Tiriolo, Italy and lived most of her life in Perth Amboy.

Ida was a General's Secretary in Germany during WW II.  She worked as an Executive Secretary at Cheesborough Ponds in Perth Amboy for 20 years before retiring in 1990.

She was a communicant of Holy Rosary R C Church.

Ida was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1994.  She is survived by her sons Greg of Cherry Hill, and Eric of Stamford, CT, her sister Ann Mele of Metuchen, and grandchildren Alana, Julian, Ryan, Isabella, and Elliana.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:30 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 23 Ford Avenue Fords, followed by a 10 am Funeral Liturgy at Holy Rosary Church.  Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen.  Visitation is Wednesday from 2-4 pm only.
