Obituary

Ida L. LaZizza Cariste entered into eternal rest on January 2, 2016. Born in Hopelawn, NJ, she was the daughter of Emilia and Joseph LaZizza. The beloved mother of Mary Carol Costa, (Joseph), Catherine Conant, Anthony, and William (Sari Netsky). She leaves six grandchildren: Joseph and William Costa, Seth Conant and Laura Crowley, and Caroline and Robert Cariste; eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Rose Lamb; and many family members and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, William, and great-granddaughter, Olivia Conant.

She was an active member of Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords, and a member of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Team. For over 50 years she volunteered for local Girl Scout Councils and was the founding Chair of the Catholic Committee on Girls Scouting for the Dioceses of Trenton and Metuchen. She was a member of the New Brunswick Oratory of St. Philip Neri.

Calling hours will be on Friday, January 8, 2016, from 3-7 PM at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Our Lady of Peace Church, Amboy Avenue, Fords. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway.
