Hugo Cabrera, age 54, passed away suddenly on December 12, 2025. He was born on May 27, 1971 in Ecuador. A resident of Edison for the last twenty years, Hugo worked as a division mechanic for PSE&G out of their Somerset, NJ office. He was a member of the IBEW Local 94 Union.

Hugo is predeceased by his son Miguel; his parents, Julio Cesar Cabrera and Rosa Eustela Peralta; and his brother Telmo Cabrera.

Surviving Hugo is his beloved wife, Ivy Cabrera; his children Mia and Mateo; and his siblings, Ligia, Julio, Rosario, Oswaldo, Mario, Leonidas, Narcisa, Severo, and Cumanda.

Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will follow the visitation with a procession over to St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen, for a 3:30 PM Funeral Liturgy. Cremation will be private.
