Howard William
Kist, Jr.
June 17, 1975 – March 4, 2023
Howard William Kist, Jr., "Chuck," passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Hackensack Meridian-JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Chuck was born in Brooklyn, NY. He was the son of Linda Rubino and the late Howard W. Kist, Sr. After living for a short time in Norwalk, CT, he moved to Sayreville where he was a graduate of Sayreville War Memorial High School. Upon meeting his wife Christine, he then moved to Fords where they've lived ever since. He spent most of his career employed by Villeroy and Boch for over 20 years.
Family, was above all important to Chuck. He enjoyed the times he was able to get out and go fishing on the boat with his father. He then extended that same passion for fishing with his children. He was a huge NY Rangers fan and loved watching games with the family. He was a big animal lover, and valued the time he could spend helping the Woodbridge Animal Shelter. He always encouraged folks to donate and adopt like he did with his beloved pit bull Betty.
Chuck loved being part of his community. He was a "Coach of many teams." He was involved in softball, baseball, basketball, and hockey. However, his passion was soccer. He dedicated over 20 years to the Woodbridge soccer program. He loved working with the kids and it brought out the best in him.
In addition to his loving wife of 27 years, Christine, Chuck is survived by his children: Corinne, Brody and Braiden Kist of Fords, and granddaughter Caelynn of Fords. He is also survived by his mother Linda Kist, sisters Lisa and Dawn Kist, nieces Samantha and Jen Pajak, and his parents-in-law Colleen and Bruce Caro.
Friends may call at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. Cremation will take place privately. Memorial donations may be made to Chuck Kist's "Go-Fund Me" page, or to the family to help defray Chuck's medical expenses.
