Hilda Alimonti, 92,  of South Amboy , died Thursday September 30, 2021 at Hackensack Meridian Heath Hospital in Perth Amboy.

Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Hilda moved to the States when she was  in her early 20's. After receiving her High School Diploma, she worked as a Teachers Aide at School #10 in Perth Amboy before her retirement. Hilda loved children, in her spare time when she wasn't writing she enjoyed crocheting hats and scarves to give as gifts to her loved ones and friends.

Born to the late Josefina (Rivera)  and Victor Santiago , Hilda is predeceased by her first husband of 54 years Laurentino Rodriguez; her second husband Joseph Alimonti of 13 years; her siblings, Ana Vasquez, Esther Santiago, Antonio Santiago, and Efrain Santiago. She is survived by her daughters, Nidia Perez, and husband Albert, Elsie Isaacson, and husband Steven, Solangel Rodriguez-Robbins, and husband David; her sister, Consuelo Figueroa; her stepson Thomas Alimonti; along with her grandchildren, Nicole, and Reuben.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday October 5, 2021, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave Fords, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday October 6, 2021, starting at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 620 Amboy Ave, Edison, NJ 08837. Family and friends are welcome to gather in the funeral home starting at 9:30 prior to Mass.
