Herbert Gottlieb, 86, of Hillsborough, passed away on December 3, 2023, at Eastern Star, Bridgewater.  He was born in Brooklyn, NY, on September 4, 1937, to the late Harry and Bella Gottlieb.  Herbert was a resident of Edison before moving to Boynton Beach, Florida, in 2007.  He served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1957.  Herbert owned and operated the Liquor Locker in Edison from 1969 to 2010.

Herbert was predeceased by his wife, Marsha S. (Greene), in 2022.

He is survived by his four daughters: Shari Hoffman and her husband, William; Linda Kovach and her husband, James; Lisa Zelinskie and her husband, Jerry; and Amy Weinstein and her husband, Jeffrey; his eleven grandchildren: Laura, William, Daniel, Louis, Rebecca, Danielle, Jessica, Matthew, Jack, Sam, and Julie Rose; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen.

Shiva will be held on Wednesday following the service and continue through Sunday.
