Obituary

Henry "Hank" Miller, born March 7, 1927,  beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, of Monroe, entered into eternal rest January 19, 2018, at the Woodland's Nursing Home in Plainfield.  He was born in Belleville and has resided in Monroe for 40 years.

Hank was a graduate of Rutgers University. He was a lifelong educator as a Teacher, Guidance Counselor, and Principal, at North Arlington High School and then as Principal at Franklin Township High School, retiring in 1989.  He then went on to be President of the Principal's and Supervisors Association for many years.

He was an avid golfer, reader and baseball coach, and served as a Councilman in Monroe for many years.  He was a devoted member of the Kiwanis Club, Knights of Columbus, and an active member of Nativity of Our Lord, RC Church in Monroe.

Hank was predeceased by his children, Mary Jean Miller and Bob Miller.  He is survived by Jean Pelley Miller, his loving wife of 70 years, cherished grandchildren Paul and Jennifer Miller, Kevin and Allyse Keeney, Michael Miller, and Suzanne Deter, and his dearest great grandchildren: Emily, Michael, Mikey, Jack, Cadence, Beatrix, Hazel, Cameron, Julia, and Alexis. He is also survived by his niece, Ruthie Gammons and many other family and friends.

Visitation is Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, with a funeral service at 7:30 pm. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
