Obituary

Henry "Hank" Karger, 94, of Fords, passed peacefully on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Care One Hospice in Morristown.

Born in Hamburg, Germany, he was a long-time resident of Fords.

A holocaust survivor, he received his B.S. Degree at Antioch College in Ohio, and was a WWII Army veteran.

He was a retired mechanical engineer and founder of H.K. Engineering.

Hank was also the last surviving founding member of Temple Emanu-El in Edison.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rachelle Karger who died in 2008, and leaves behind three sons; Daniel Karger and his wife Louise, of Morristown, Ron Karger and his fiancé, Bobbi (Barbara) Christiano, of Parsippany, and Steven Karger and his partner Susan Mendelsohn, of Bradley Beach and NYC, his six grandchildren, Sarah, Rebecca, Harry, Miriam and Nasia Karger and Julianna Mehlan, four great-grandchildren and a sister, Dora Frost of Seattle.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Temple Emanu-El, 100 James St. Edison, NJ 08837. Interment will follow in Beth Israel Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
