Henry G.
Geiling Iii
April 10, 1969 – March 17, 2024
Beloved Henry G. "Hank" Geiling, III, 54, of Riverdale, New York passed away suddenly on March 17, 2024. Hank was a happy, optimistic, loving and kind husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He always had a smile on his face and lived life to the fullest. He adored his wife of 15 years, Lauren Shipsky Geiling. Together they lived a life of love, friendship and curiosity.
Hank was a devoted son to Lois Jensen Geiling Hurley, calling her every day. His brother, Greg Geiling, was his best friend. They looked out for each other and loved each other deeply.
Hank was proud of his successful 30 year career at Home Depot as a Pro-Desk Assistant, receiving many commendations as a committed team member and exemplary service provider. Hank graduated from Watchung Hills High School.
When Hank wasn't working, you could find him baking and cooking in the kitchen (we'll miss his cookies), spending time with friends from Hankering For More and exploring New York with his wife. Hank loved the Jersey Shore, fishing, bowling, music and the Yankees. We will miss our family baseball outings and Mets-Yankees rivalry.
Hank is survived by his wife Lauren (Shipsky) Geiling; his mother, Lois Hurley; brother, Greg Geiling and sister-in-law Jennifer Geiling; his mother-in-law, Karin Shipsky; his niece, Charlotte and nephews, Matthew and Harrison; his father, Henry Geiling, Jr.; step-brothers, Skip, Peter and Ryan Hurley; his half-brothers, Bryan and Jeffrey Geiling; and his adored pets, George and Sweetie.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 4-7 PM with a prayer service at 6 PM at Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840. A celebration of Hank's life will be held on Sunday, March 24 at 12-2 PM with a 1 PM Reflection at 1 Hotel Central Park, 1414 6th Avenue, NYC 10019.
