Obituary

" The strength of a man is in his character. A strong man is a great man of wisdom who understands, his top priority is to his family ."(Barrier) This is exactly the man Henry Charles Dunn lived to be throughout his life.

Henry Charles Dunn, 82, of Sayreville, NJ, fought a hard battle against COVID-19 yet passed on Friday, September 3, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

Henry was born in Newark, NJ, on December 2, 1938, to Hugh F Sr. and Edna M Dunn. He married the love of his life, Erminia Abbruzzese Dunn, on June 17, 1967, and together they made their family their top priority having four children. Colleen Dunn of Sayreville, Kevin and his wife Kelly Dunn of South Plainfield, Karen and her husband Steven Berecsky of Monroe Township, and Erin and her husband David Morin of Brick. Henry's family grew to include his grandchildren, Christian Dunn, Zaness Gonzalez, Steven Berecsky Jr, Hanna Dunn, Brennan Berecsky, Graciella Berecsky, Jacob Dunn, and Deanna Dunn. Man's Best Friend is an understatement regarding Henry's love for his dogs, Oreo and Gracie. Henry's most significant treasure was his family.

Mr. Dunn is survived by his brothers Vincent Dunn, John Dunn Sr., Robert Dunn, and sister Dorothy Racz. Henry was preceded in death by his brothers Francis Dunn, Hugh Dunn Jr., and his sister Florence Callahan.

Henry was a life-long resident of Sayreville, NJ, for over 65 years. He graduated from the New Brunswick Vocational School and went on to a career in Upholstery and Design at Art Furniture and Decorators in New Brunswick, NJ. He retired from his first career after 43 years and was never one to sit still; he then began a second career as a Logistics Driver at Quest Diagnostics, where he retired in November 2020 at the age of 81. Henry was known for his hardworking nature and always took pride in his work.

Henry took great joy building fantastic relationships with friends and family. He loved to spend time just chatting with others and was known for his sense of humor right to the last day of his life. He has been described as the sweetest, kindest, loving man and will be greatly missed by all.
