Helmert H. De La Cruz's Obituary
Helmert H. De La Cruz, 24, of Keasbey, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold. Born in the Dominican Republic, he resided in Keasbey for the past 12 years.
Helmert was an E 5 Sergeant in the Marine Corps, stationed in Amityville, Long Island, after having served one year in Afghanistan.
He is survived by his parents, Eusebio and Marisela Matos De La Cruz of Keasbey; two brothers, Wellner H. and Hegel I. De La Cruz Matos of Keasbey; paternal grandmother, Pilar Gonzalez of Port Reading; girlfriend, Jessenia Rivera of Edison; and step daughter, Emily Anne Gutierrez.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 2 from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at 9:15 a.m. from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church in Perth Amboy. Burial will follow in Alpine Cemetery.
