Helen Marie Yusko Bertekap, 93, of Fords entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at St. Joseph's Home in Woodbridge.

She was born in New Brunswick and resided in Fords for the past 60 years. Helen was the co-owner of the Liberty Tavern in Fords for 40 years before retiring in 1990. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church in Fords; a member of the Holy Trinity Senior Citizens; and a volunteer with the JFK Medical Center Auxiliary.

Helen was predeceased by her former husband, Jerry Bertekap, in 2002; her daughter, Beverly Ann Zboyan, 1995; her sisters: Mary Hoffman and Elizabeth Napolitano; and her grandson, Douglas Zboyan. She is survived by her son, Gerald Bertekap and his wife Carole of Farmingdale; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012, at 10:00 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, followed by a 10:30 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace RC Church. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 29, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm.
