Helen Smith, 82, of Fords , passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at the Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. Mrs. Smith was born in Perth Amboy to the late George and Mary Bedics and had lived all of her life in Fords .

She had been employed by Fridgedaire in Edison for many year before her retirement in 2001.

Helen was a member of the Fords-Keasbey Senior Citizens Club and also of AARP. She enjoyed spending time watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She loved solving crossword puzzles and doing needlepoint, and regularly attended bingo. She also took great pleasure in enjoying Quick Chek subs.

Helen was predeceased by her brother William Bedics.

Surviving are her devoted daughter: Deborah Denault and husband Chris of Fords, her brother: George Bedics of Fords, her sister: Marion Dietz also of Fords, her two granddaughters: Heather L. Denault and Kimberly A. Denault, her 3 great grandchildren: Alize Simons, Ski Simons and Terry Simons Jr. and three nephews Jimmy, David and Billy Dietz.

Funeral services will be held 10 am Thursday at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Interment will follow in the St. James Cemetery in Hopelawn. Visitation hours will be held Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The Fords-Keabey Seniors will hold services Wednesday afternnon at 3:30 pm at the funeral home.
