Helen M. Plesher, 94 years old of Sayreville, died Monday, March 29, 2010 at Madison Nurshing Home in Matawan. Born November 3, 1915 in Perth Amboy, she resided in sayreville for the past three years and was formerly of Old Bridge. Helen worked at RCA in Avenel as a supply girl until her retirement. She graduated from Perth Amboy High School - Class of 1933. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Helen was a member of the Mother's Guild and Choir. She spent many hours volunteering her time at South Amboy Memorial Hospital.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, George Plesher; her son, George Plesher, brother George Rodgers and sisters Dorothea Nesley and Adeline Parker. Surviving are daughters Mary Ferlita of Parlin, Beverly Gerak and husband James of Sayreville; daughter-in-law Marge Plesher of Manalapan, grandson Peter Ferlita, granddaughters Kim Turner, Jessica Gent, Jill Jarusiewicz, Rebecca Plesher, and Dayna Gerak and special friends Barbara and Dietrich Farber.
Visiting hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy. Visiting hour Thursday, 9-10 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 183 Rector Street, Perth Amboy with Eucharist Service at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Peter's Churchyard.
