Helen Gertrude Mallon, 73, passed away on December 2, 2015 in Toms River.
She was born in Ware, MA. to James and Eliza "Gertrude" Mallon. Helen went to Pemberton High School in New Jersey and graduated in 1960. She continued her education throughout her life. For 36 years, she devoted herself to the developmentally challenged at New Jersey's Woodbridge Developmental Center. She was an avid reader and craftswoman. Helen enjoyed movies, art, and the company of animals. She treasured most the love and connections she shared with family and friends.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, and her beloved sister Patti.
Surviving are her sister, Nancy; her brother, James and his wife Lynn; nephews and nieces, Michael, Nicole, Heather, Robert and Douglas, and her great-nephews and nieces, Ethan, Elysa, Emma, Jimmy and Nicholas. Her family would like to send special thanks to Bill and Helen Elmendorf and their family.
Funeral services will be held 11AM on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, with interment to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Viewing will be Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
