Helen C. Gidos passed away on Wednesday at JFK Haven Hospice, Edison. She was 89.

Helen was a life-long resident of Woodbridge, and a graduate of Woodbridge High School. She was a member of the Hungarian Reformed in Church in Perth Amboy. She had also worked as a cashier at the Foodtown in Perth Amboy.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, in 1992. She is survived by her son, Wayne P. Gidos and his wife Althea of Barnegat; her grandson, Jared Gidos and his wife Sandra, of Manahawkin; and a great-granddaughter Hannah. Helen is also survived by her brother, Michael Kertesz of CA, and sisters-in-law Julie Rothermel of CA, Betty Smoyak of Edison, and Doris Torchia of CA.

Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, from the Flynn & Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords. Interment will follow in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday, August 29, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m.
