Helen (Berg) Falk, 88, of Lakewood formerly of Fords, passed away on Saturday March 15, 2014 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Germany, Helen was a Holocaust survivor moving to the USA after losing both her parents at the age of 13. She was raised by the Hemmerdinger Family (cousins).

Helen was a member of Deborah. She was a former member of Congregation Beth Sholom and Adath Israel, Woodbridge where she was a member of the sisterhood and the 55+ Club. Helen was also a member of the social committee, and Jewish Club at Four Seasons in Lakewood where she and her husband Robert lived for the past 10 years. Helen also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling and winters in Florida.

Helen was employed by Singer Company, Carteret as a bookkeeper and then worked for St. Paul Insurance, Edison in the claims department.

Helen was predeceased by her two brothers, Gunter and Kurt Berg. She is survived by her husband Robert of 67 years; her daughter Alice Sherry and son-in-law Ronald; her two grandsons, Michael Sherry and Jeffrey Sherry and his wife PJ Santos- Sherry; and two great-granddaughters, Allison and Rebecca; a sister-in-law Myrna Berg; a close childhood friend, Joan Siehs and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 1PM, Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Beth Israel Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Shiva will be held Tuesday following the services and Wednesday and Thursday starting at 1 PM at the Sherry residence in Marlboro. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords.
