Helen M. David, 92, passed away on June 7, 2023 in Berlin, NJ.

Helen was born in Newark, one of five children to the late Edgar and Helen Petzinger Gibbs.  She was raised in Iselin and a graduate of Woodbridge High School.  She went on to attend nursing school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked as an LPN for Roosevelt Hospital, Middlesex General Hospital, and for the Visiting Nurse Services.  After her marriage to Harry E. David they settled down in Metuchen to raise their family where they lived for many years.  After retiring from nursing, Helen became an insurance agent for Woodmen of the World Ins. CO. She was a dedicated member of the Dutch Reformed Church of Metuchen where she sang in the church choir and was the church bell ringer.

Helen was preceded in death in 1986 by her dear husband Harry E. David, and by her siblings Edward Gibbs, Rose Holloway, and Marian Calvert.  She is survived by her children: Harry David, Helen Pioli, Eric David, and his wife Jill; grandchildren: Richard Sheehan, his partner Tracey Toniazzo, Jessical Conkey, her husband James, Izzy David, Kieran James David, Marelen Pioli, Noelle David, Hollie David, and Merrie David; great-grandchildren: Ricky Sheehan, Jaiden Conkey, Jackson Conkey, Janica Conkey and Maverick Slaughter; sister: Frances Stewart,  and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen on Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm, where services will take place on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 10:00am.  Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery, Linden.
