It is with great sadness that the family of Harvey J. Friedman has announced his passing on Tuesday, February 9th, 2021. He was 90-years-old. Harvey was born on December 25th, 1930 to Anna and Jack Friedman of Irvington, NJ. He attended Irvington schools, was a graduate of New York University, and was a member of Sigma Alpha Mu. Harvey served in the Korean War where he earned the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Korea Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Service Star. He was an Industrial Engineer and was employed by Amerada Hess for 33 years and also consulted for 7 years after.
Harvey resided in Middletown, NJ, before moving to Four Seasons in Lakewood where he served on the Finance Committee and was an active member in the local community. Everyone loved him for his smiling face, keen interest in others, and kind and generous heart. Everyone who knew Harvey loved him.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Maxine Friedman (Robin), daughter Donna (Ron Liebowitz), son Jeffrey (Jill Friedman), and three grandchildren: Jennifer, David, and Samantha.
A graveside service was held in Beth Israel Cemetery on February 11, 2021. Arrangements were entrusted to the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863.
