Kaloyerakis
August 24, 1925 – April 7, 2026
Gregory Kaloyerakis, 100, of Menlo Park Terrace, passed away at home, surrounded by his family on April 7, 2026. He was born on August 24, 1925, in New Brunswick. Gregory was a graduate of East Side High School in Paterson, Class of 1942. He served in the US Army during WWII, in the 20'th Armored Division that liberated the Dachau Concentration Camp. Gregory was a retired Diesel Mechanic for Texaco Co. and continued to work as a Courier for JFK's Clin-Lab. He was a member of the American Legion, T. Nutley Post in Iselin, the VFW in Brick, and the DAV in Lakewood, Gregory enjoyed science fiction programs and movies, "Live Long and Prosper" was a favorite saying of his being a Star Wars enthusiast, and he did just that ! He loved watching NASA programs and the various shuttles that took off from Cape Canaveral. He got to witness a live shuttle take off in Florida a few years ago and he was fascinated.
He was predeceased by the love of his life, Ruth Kaloyerakis in1999; two brothers, Basil "Bill" and George Kaloyerakis; and two sisters, Christine Dean, and Anita Kaloyerakis.
Gregory is survived by a daughter, Elana Ruth Kaloyerakis, of Menlo Park Terrace; three sons: Gregory W Kaloyerakis, and his wife, Connie, of Albrightsville, PA, Grant A Kaloyerakis, of Metuchen, and Kurt W Kaloyerakis, and his wife, Ronnie, of Cream Ridge; six grandchildren: James, Gregory, Anthony, Melissa, Nicholas, and Michael; and twelve great-grandchildren: Joshua, Christian, Noah,Owen, Autumn, Breann, Raelyn, Sophia, AJ, Michela, Ava and Nico. He also has many nieces and nephews that were a big part of his life.
Visitation will be at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863 on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 4-7 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 10 am. Interment will follow in Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
