Glenn C.
Figel
July 15, 1947 – February 21, 2024
Glenn C. Figel, 76, of Woodbridge, passed away on February 21, 2024, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Glenn was born in Perth Amboy and formerly of Fords, before living in Woodbridge for the past 14 years.
Glenn Figel was a unique man. A loving, funny, outspoken, faithful individual that would spend hours in the Hallmark Store to spend his last dollar on a perfectly picked out card for your birthday. Glenn loved without cause. He was definitely authentic and genuine to say the least.
As most know, Glenn struggled with major adversities throughout his life, but he stood firm on who he knew he was on the inside. Which was a compassionate, giving, loving man.
As a nature lover and caregiver, Glenn found his path through the New Jersey Parks and Recreation Department. Later in life, after retiring, Glenn volunteered for JFK Hospital for over a decade…just doing what he could to help out. He felt in his heart that he was meant to help and give back.
Glenn had an extravagant mind. He was a worldly man at heart. He loved traveling, a nice glass of wine during the holidays, and joking around with the younger generation of his extended family.
Glenn understood the concept of human connection and genuine love. And in turn he truly taught those around him to be compassionate, to love without condition, and to value and appreciate the gifts we all have in life.
Glenn would definitely not want us to sit here and grieve. He would want us to celebrate a life well-lived. So, if you knew Glenn, and he impacted your life in some way. In lieu of attendance to the services, please do some random act of kindness in memory of Our dear friend.
As one of Glenn's core family members throughout my life, I would genuinely like to express my gratitude to everyone that aided in Glenn's well-being, livelihood, faith, community and over-all happiness. I can honestly say those that impacted Glenn's life positively at some point or another, remain eternally in his spirit.
Glenn was predeceased by his mother, Margaret Figel in 2002.
Glenn is survived by his many cousins.
