Gladys Meltreder Kelt, 88, of Iselin, passed away surrounded by her family on April 20, 2016, at her home.
She was born on May 7, 1927, in Carteret and has resided in Iselin for the last 68 years.
Gladys was a communicant and a member of St. Cecelia Holy Rosary Society for over 60 years. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a recreation aide at the NJ Veterans Memorial home. Gladys loved her family and was young at heart. She loved to draw, paint and write poems. She wore costumes for every occasion and was recognized for her decorated walker.
Gladys was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Stella Meltreder; her brother, Donald Frank Meltreder; and her former husband, Paul Kelt.
Surviving are her children: Glenn Kelt of Charlotte, NC; Sharon Chiecuto of Winter Garden, FL; Norine Kelt of Ocoee, FL; and her grandchildren: Brian, Tony, Keith and Kevin.
Funeral services will be held at 10:45 AM on April 25, 2016, at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:30 AM at St. Cecelia RC Church, Iselin with interment to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Viewing will be Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
