He attended Port Richmond High School where he was an all-star athlete, winning multiple awards in baseball and setting records in Cross County. He was then drafted during the Vietnam War and proudly served for two years until he was honorably discharged. His duties included being part of the burial detail for the fallen soldiers returning from Vietnam. He was a member of The American Legion, Post No. 0324, in Edison.

Giulio and his brothers started in the restaurant business on SI, NY in the 1960's, relocating to NJ in 1969. Giulio went on his own, starting Ferraro's Restaurant & Pizzeria on Amboy Ave for over 40 years. His restaurant was his passion. His staff, who has become family, has remained dedicated to him for over 20 years. He has also served generations of customers, who have become family as well. The Ferraro brothers also founded Ferraro Foods distribution. He was a die-hard NY Giants & Yankees fan and loved his old Western shows.

Giulio was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Luisa (Vingione) and his brother, Rinaldo.

Surviving are his wife, Susan (Roselli); his sons, Stephen of Avenel and Mark Barbour and his wife, Christina of Oakland; his daughters, Luisa Ambrosio and her husband, Ryan, of Readington and Lisa Livett and her husband, Michael, of Laurence Harbor; his grandchildren, Aria, Alexis, Brianna, and Patricia Jean. Also surviving are his brothers, Mariano, Elio, his sisters, Josephine Lobaito, Lena Pappalardo and many nieces and nephews.  Also survived by Luisa's and Stephen's mother, MaryAnn (Bumback).

A memorial funeral mass will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, Fords. Memorial visitation will be Monday 4-7 PM and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM with a service at 8PM at the Flynn and Son Funeral Homes, 23 Ford Avenue, NJ 08863.
