Gilberto F. Tolentino, 70, of Fords went to his heavenly home on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Gilberto was born on January 22, 1953 to Felino Modesto Tolentino and Esperanza Filoteo in Manila, Philippines. He graduated from Far Eastern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology.
He met and fell in love instantly with his high school sweetheart, Flora. They were life long partners, married for 43 years. Gilberto and his late wife, Flora, had 3 children together. Hazel married to David Correa (who has 3 children, Kalel, Katana and Phoenix). Heidee married to Jason Fuller and Gilbert married to Maria Tolentino. Gilberto is Survived by his sister Rebecca married to Erasto Elizaga; Predeceased brother, Wilfrido married to Aida Tolentino and Predeceased sister Rowena married to Jun Curpuz.
Gilberto was determined to provide for his family and give the life they deserved by working hard at a young age and migrating to the US from the Philippines. He was also passionate about cars, taking care of animals, traveling and is a food enthusiast.
Gilberto has put his faith in Jesus Christ, understanding that Jesus suffered and was crucified for our sins. Gilberto rejoiced and worshipped Him everyday knowing that he will have everlasting life in God's Kingdom-John 3:16.
Cremation will be held privately under the direction of Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue Fords. A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date in Hillside Cemetery in Metuchen where Gilberto will be laid to rest alongside his wife, Flora.
