Gertrude K. Concannon (nee: O'Hara), 88, of Woodbridge, passed away on June 6, 2016 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy.
She was born in Perth Amboy and had resided in Woodbridge since 1947. Gertrude graduated from Perth Amboy High in 1945 and entered Nurses Training with the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps at Jersey City Medical Center and Jersey City State College, graduating in 1948. She worked as a Registered Nurse; she later worked as a school nurse in Woodbridge Township Schools, retiring in 1989. She was a communicant of St. James Church, Woodbridge. She was predeceased by her husband John (Jack) in 2006, after 59 years of marriage, and by her stillborn son, James.
Gertrude is survived by her sons, John Jr. and his wife Gail, Brian and his wife Robyn, her daughter, Kathye, her sister, Jeanne Rapach, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM 0n Friday, June 10, 2016 at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. A 10:30 AM Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. James RC Church, Woodbridge, with entombment to follow at St. James Mausoleum. Viewing will be Thursday 6-9 PM.
