Gertrud Thomas (nee: Weber), 92, of Fords, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Twin Cedars Assisted Living in Shohola, PA on Saturday, May 1, 2021.

Born in Daun, Germany to Nicholaus and Josephine Weber, Gertrud was raised in Aachen and attended school at the convent. She met and married her husband, Colin in 1961 and then moved to the United States in 1962. They settled in Fords after living in Hopelawn for 2 years. Gertrud was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Church RC Church in Fords. She loved going back home to Europe to visit her family and always enjoyed a good trip to Atlantic City, aside from making sure her home was meticulous. She also enjoyed a good game of poker with her grandchildren, as well as entertaining and hosting family and friends from around the world.

Beloved wife of the late Colin Hector Thomas, who predeceased her in 2017. Loving mother of Michelle Astalos and husband Robert of Fords. Cherished grandmother of Nicole Piano and husband Chris, Robbie Astalos and Eric Astalos. Caring sister of the late Alwina Edmonds.

Family and friends may visit Thursday, 9:00am to 10:00am at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30am at Our Lady of Peace RC Church in Fords. Private cremation will follow.
