Obituary

Gerhard "Gary" G. Emrich, 73, of Edison, passed peacefully on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at the JFK Medical Center in Edison.  Born July 19, 1948, in Austria, he has resided in Edison, NJ, for 60 years.  Gary was the Owner/Operator of G. Emrich & Sons Trucking in Edison.  He also worked in the construction industry for many years with his father George Emrich.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie Irene Emrich, who died in 2016; his daughters, Teresa Gunderson, who died in 2017 and Maria V. O'Connell who died in 2011.
He leaves behind his two beloved sons, Gary Emrich of Edison and John Emrich and his wife, Veronica, of Kentucky; his three beloved grandchildren: Shawn O'Connell, James Gunderson, Jr. and  Tanya Gunderson; his four great-grandchildren; and his dear, long-time friend, Kathy Joseph, at home.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon with a 12:00 Noon funeral service at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840. Interment will follow in the Clover Leaf Memorial Park Cemetery Woodbridge.
