Georgianna Marie Paone, 94, passed away in Richmond, Virginia on March 13, 2023.

Born and raised in Fords, she was one of five children born to the late Benjamin and Fanny Decibus Straffi. After graduating from Woodbridge High School, she began her first job as a secretary at Foster Wheeler Corporation. She also worked for the General Cable Corporation and ultimately retired from Chase Bank where she worked in office administration. In 1955, she married John P Paone, Sr. and they were blessed with two children, John, Jr., and Jeanne.  John and Georgianna remained in Fords where she was a life-long parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. It was only this past year that she spent it in Virginia with her daughter and family.

Georgianna was a devoted wife, mother, and nana. She looked forward to her visits from her grandchildren and instilled in them a love for both family and tradition. She loved traveling with her family and celebrating special occasions.  Her appreciation for both fashion and parties, or "affairs" as she would refer to them always meant there would be a custom-made dress for the event.

In addition to her parents, Georgianna was preceded in death in 1997 by her beloved husband of 42 years John P. Paone, Sr.; and her siblings: Minnie Della Pietro, Edward, Angelo, and Gussie Straffi.  She is survived by her children: John P. Paone, Jr., and wife Roseann, and Jeanne Bader and husband Tom. She will also be missed by her grandchildren: Jeannine Bader Mangas, Tommy John Bader, John P. Paone III, Victoria Paone-Rosa; and great-grandchildren: Winters Mangas and Bridgette Paone.

Funeral services will begin at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 10:00 am followed by a 10:30 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Fords.  Interment will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Hopelawn.
