Georgette V. Claffy 83, of Fords entered into eternal rest October 22, 2018 at her home.  She was born in Perth Amboy and has resided in Fords for the past 53 years.

She was the Sacristan at Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords for 35 years before retiring in 2013.  She was also the founder of the Blue Army at the church and received the Regina Nostra award.

Georgette was predeceased by her husband Joseph John Claffy in 2011 and her brother John Grimek.  She is survived by her children Joseph J. Claffy Jr. and his wife Viviana of Fords, Robert A. and his wife Amy of Edison, Renee Miller and her husband John of East Windsor, and Dawn Aube and her husband Lowell of Fords.

She is also survived by her sisters Blanche Cupsie, Doreen Katner, and Gail Hummel, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, followed by a 10:30 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace.  Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.  Visitation is Thursday from 4-8 pm.
