George Richard Van Orden, 78, of Sewaren, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at the JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born in Elizabeth he had resided in Sewaren since 1964.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and the Naval Reserves at home.
He was a retired machine mechanic with Allied Old English of Port Reading and later he had been employed with Edison Casket Co. in Edison.
He was predeceased by his 3 brothers, James, John and David Van Orden.
George leaves behind his beloved wife, Madeline (Mason) Van Orden, his beloved children, Sandra Van Orden of Sewaren, and Eric Van Orden of Woodbridge, his two beloved grandchildren, Emily Lowrie and Andrew Van Orden, his beloved great granddaughter, LiliAna Womack, his devoted sister, Dorothy Silvestro of Mays Landing and devoted brother, Donald Van Orden and sister in law, Jackie, of Elizabeth.
Cremation services were private.
