George E. Thompson's Obituary
George E. Thompson, 77, of Hopelawn, passed away surrounded by his family on April 2, 2018, at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, Edison.
He was born in Newark and has resided in Hopelawn since 1967. George was a Compressed Air Technician for 33 years for Air Products and Chemicals in Iselin, retiring in 1995. He served in the US Army from 1958-1961.
George was predeceased by his parents, William and Amelia (Wertz) and his brothers, William and James.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Lois (Andersen); his son, Brian and his wife, Jennifer of Hopelawn; his daughter, Eileen Zodl and her husband, Kevin, of Fords; his grandchildren: Rebecca, Jonathan, Thomas, Joseph and Amelia; goddaughter, Cheryl DiPietro and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be on Thursday, April 5, 2018, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords.. Services will begin Friday at 10 AM with a 10:30 AM Funeral Service at Grace Lutheran Church in Perth Amboy. Interment to follow at Clover Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
