George J. Ratel Jr., 78, of Iselin, passed away at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy on January 11, 2022. He was born on August 16, 1943, in the Ironbound section of Newark. He fought a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. George worked at Burry Biscuits for 48+ years, a career he very much enjoyed. An avid NY Giant's fan, George passed his love of the team onto his children, their children and his extended family. George was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother- in-law & uncle. He had a love for music, and played in a band as a young man, he was skilled at baseball & enjoyed game shows. George was preceded in death by his father George Sr., and his mother, Marie Ratel.

Evelyn (Dato) Ratel (born Marie Bertha Desaulniers). He is survived by his wife, Diane (Gleason) Ratel, his son George III and Sheri (Sall); daughter Barbara Ann and Sue (Jensen), grandchildren George IV and Tiffany (Goncalves), Joseph & Danielle (Burns), Kayla, Sydney and Amelia and one great grandson Liam "BigGuy", along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 2-4 pm, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Cremation will be private.
