George Nickolas, 76, of Edison, passed away on September 15, 2014, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in 1937 in Potamia, Greece, he resided in Perth Amboy before moving to Edison 51 years ago. He was the Owner of The Barge Restaurant in Perth Amboy for 35 years. George was a communicant of St. Matthews Church in Edison and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Dolores (nee Suswal) Nickolas of Edison; his daughter, Callie Vosinas and husband, Alex, of Metuchen; his son, Christopher Nickolas and wife, June, of Edison; three grandchildren: George, Nickolas, and Samantha; two brothers, Thomas Nickolas and sister-in-law, Maria, of Edison and Steve Nikolakakos of Staten Island, NY; and two sisters, Stella Soumakis and husband, Thomas, of Sparta, Greece and Garifalia Dousmanis of Brooklyn, NY.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 19, 2014, at 8:45 am at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ, followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Liturgy at St. Matthews Church, Edison. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 17 from 7-9 pm and Thursday, September 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia
