Mohr
February 9, 1928 – June 20, 2024
George Mohr passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024 in Pasadena, CA at the age of 96.
George was born in 1928 in Vinkovci, Yugoslavia, to Karl Mohr and Rosalia Roos. George was conscripted into the German military at the age of 16 and immigrated to the United States in 1950 carrying only one suitcase. Months later, he joined the US Army, working as an electrician, and earned the rank of Corporal in the Korean War, earning 2 Bronze Service stars. After the war, George settled in the Hopelawn section of Woodbridge Township with his many cousins. George worked for General Motors for 30 years, first in Linden helping build Oldsmobiles, Buicks and Pontiacs, and then in California, where he was a resident for over 60 years.
George was predeceased by his sister Katarina in 2005. He is survived by his cousin, Gail Pantozzi, her husband, Ralph; and his nephew, Ralph Pantozzi, and by his 14 second cousins from the United States and Australia.
Graveside services will take place on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 11:30 am in Clover Leaf Memorial Park Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements are under the direction of the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, Fords.
