George was born in New Brunswick on April 8, 1928 to the late Emmanuel and Androniki (Psalidakis) Lionikis.

George is survived by his children George Lionikis and wife, Patti, of Edison NJ; Joan Tarkulich and husband, Bill, of North Reading MA; Carol Angiola and husband, Frank, of Sayreville, NJ; Diane Ruth and husband, Tony, of East Brunswick, NJ; grandchildren Melissa and Mike Lionikis, Karen, Michelle and Suzanne Tarkulich, Frank and George Angiola, Amy Lynn, Laura, and Tony Ruth and numerous nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Irene (Botsolas) Lionikis; his brother, Reverend Manousos Lionikis (Katherine); his sisters, Helen Coffas (Charles), Thelma Maiorano (Joseph), and Katherine 'Kay' Lionikis.

A first generation American, George was raised in New Brunswick and later lived in Perth Amboy, Metuchen and Colonia. He graduated from New Brunswick High School in 1946 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the U.S Army, serving in Italy from 1946-1948. Upon the completion of his service he enrolled at Rider College, graduating in 1952 with a bachelor's degree in business. He met his wife, Irene, at a church function and they were married in 1952 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy, NJ, where he has been a church member ever since.

Upon the death of his mother when he was a young boy, George's four older siblings helped his widowed father raise George, instilling in George a deep commitment to, and appreciation of, family. He was a devoted father, loving grandfather and successful businessman.

George was the co-inventor and patent holder of specialized plastic pipe insulation fittings that became the industry standard due to their labor saving installation process. These products are widely used in the insulation industry. He was the co-owner of State Insulation Corporation in Perth Amboy, State Laminating Corporation, and Zeston Corporation. In later years, he also founded and owned Allstate Insulation Corporation.

George believed in the opportunities made available through education and hard work. He will be fondly remembered for his kind nature, lovable sense of humor and selfless generosity.
