Obituary of Genevieve M. Obszarny


Genevieve M. Obszarny, 95, of Edison, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the J.F.K. Medical Center in Edison. Mrs. Obszarny was born in Perth Amboy to the late Felix and Josephine Jakubowski and had resided in Edison for the last ten years.

Genevieve was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member the Good Shepherd Parish - Holy Spirit RC Church, Perth Amboy and also of the Holy Spirit Senior Citizens Club.

Genevieve was predeceased by her husband Anton L. Obszarny in 1992, three brothers Chester, Stanley and Joseph Jakubowski and a sister Freida Kooklin.

She is survived by her son, Robert Obszarny and his wife Marion of Metuchen, her daughter, Nancy Tardiff and her husband Gene of Edison, three grandchildren, Danette Tardiff, Erin Obszarny and Matthew Obszarny. Funeral services will be held Thursday 10:00 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Interment will follow in the St. Stephen's Cemetery in Keasbey. Visitation hours will be held Wednesday from 4 - 7 pm.
