Genevieve S. Kaczynski, 96, of Virginia Beach, VA (formerly of Harrison and Edison) was called home on Wednesday October 19, 2022.

Genevieve was born in Jersey City to the late, Boleslaw Zychalski and Stanislawa Adamski. She grew up in Fords and attended the Clara Barton school.  Gen later married her WWII Navy pen pal, Joseph, and together they were blessed with three loving daughters. She worked as a customer service representative for CS Osbourne & Co in Harrison, retiring after 23 years of service. Gen loved her family and took great pride in preparing her famous Polish dishes (pierogi's, Babka & galumpkis) and, of course, her legendary pot roast.  She also enjoyed watching her favorite Hallmark movies, especially at Christmas or in July.  Gen was a devout parishioner at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church and enjoyed doing activities with the Clara Barton Seniors.  She was a selfless, caring, kind, loving person, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Genevieve is predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years Joseph Kaczynski (January 25, 2001); and her brothers Hank, and Charlie Zychalski, (Norma). She is survived by her daughters, Janice Pease (Edward), and Joanne Bogoslaw (David), Judy Wood (Dan); her seven grandchildren, Aaron Pease (Kendall), Lauren Higgins (Dan), David Pease (fiancé Jackalini), Jessica Gurry (Rich), Joseph Wood (Kimmie), Matthew Wood, and Tomas Bogoslaw; her great-grandchildren, Mary Vivian, Lilly Jane, and Violet Genevieve; her niece and nephew, Lydia Ann and Charles "Bubba"; and her special #4 daughter, Gerry.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue Fords, NJ 08863.  A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 620 Amboy Avenue Edison, NJ 08837, with a prayer service starting at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
