Gary Terefenko, 82, passed away peacefully at home on August 4, 2025. He was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, to the late Stephen and Antonia Terefenko. Gary was a lifelong resident of Woodbridge, graduating Woodbridge High School in the class of 1961. He then joined the United States Army, serving his country from 1964 to 1967 as an Airborne Ranger and Military Police Officer. After being discharged, Gary worked as a Woodbridge police officer and then for the Laborer's Union as a construction worker. He was also an avid fan of Atlantic City.

Gary is predeceased by his older brother, Stephen Terefenko (2016).

Surviving Gary is his nephew, Mark Terefenko and his wife Lisa. He is also survived by his great-niece Makensie, and great-nephew Nicholas.

Cremation will be private. Interment of cremated remains will take place at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 11, 2025 at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption Cemetery, Perth Amboy, NJ. Local arrangements have been entrusted to Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863.
