Fred Joel Klein, 84, of Woodbridge, died on Sunday October 9, 2011, at the Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy.
Fred was born in Perth Amboy, and resided in Woodbridge. He was a practicing Attorney, with offices in Perth Amboy from 1951 to 1994 and then in Woodbridge from 1994 until the present. He graduated from Rutgers Preparatory School in Somerset, Notre Dame University in 1948, and Rutgers Law School in 1951. While at Rutgers he was the associate editor of the Rutgers Law Review for the University from 1949-1950. Fred was admitted to the New Jersey Bar Association in 1951. He was past President of the Perth Amboy Bar Association from 1963 to 1964 and was past President of the Middlesex County Bar Association from 1967 to 1968.
He was a member of Temple Beth Mordecai in Perth Amboy, and
served as past President of the YMHA in Perth Amboy.
Fred is predeceased by his wife, Lillian Klein, who died in 2003 and his sister, Ruth Spivak.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane Klein of Woodbridge; his two grandsons: Christopher and Matthew Hittner; two nephews and a niece.
Funeral Services will be on Sunday, October 16, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. Interment will follow in Beth Mordecai Cemetery Perth Amboy.
